from usenet:-

Dear all,

the BMD web sites for the following counties have
had a recent software update in the marriage search page:

http://www.CheshireBMD.org.uk

http://www.LancashireBMD.org.uk
http://www.StaffordshireBMD.org.uk
http://www.WestMidlandsBMD.org.uk
http://www.WiltshireBMD.org.uk
http://www.BathBMD.org.uk
http://www.YorkshireBMD.org.uk

The update allows easy identification of marriage entries where
alternative names are listed in the indexes.

This is more easily illustrated by example. On the Cheshire BMD
site, search the marriages for the surname of SEDDON in 1841.
You will see that some of the surnames in the results are underlined
and are links. Click on one of the underlined surnames and a new page
of results will be displayed complete with a full explanation
for the extra entries.

All of these sites above, (plus over 200 other BMD and Census
related sites) are accessible from the UKBMD web site, address
below.

The North Wales BMD site will be updated with this new software
very soon.

Hope you find this new feature useful.

regards,
Ian Hartas
