Heir or Probate, Genealogy

Forensic Genealogy

Many of these cases will be initiated by an established and legal client to us for our firm to act on their behalf in the research phase of identifying and locating the heirs/beneficiaries to the estate.

The Compensation for us may be by either a "contingency fee", "hourly fee" or some other defined contractual compensation. In these cases our fees and expenses, along with those of the Trustee or other client including the expenses incurred by them in administering the estate, will ultimately be charged to the estate for these costs. The end result, here, is that the heirs and beneficiaries, once identified and found, will assume the net payable proceeds resulting after all expenses have been paid

1837online is a spin off from that trade

1837online.com is based in London, England and is part of an independently-owned business that is dedicated to providing high quality genealogical services to professional and non-professional researchers. 1837online.com is a sister company to Title Research, an independent business which has existed for nearly 40 years and provides probate and succession genealogy services to lawyers and corporate and public trustees around the world. Uniquely in its industry, Title Research provides a range of services endorsed by The Law Society of England & Wales and is also certified by the British Standards Institute as an Investor in People, with the total quality standard BS EN ISO 9001-2000 and with the standard for the secure management of information BS 7799 -2:2002.

As part of its day-to-day work, Title Research used to consult the microfiche version of the birth, marriage and death indexes extensively. Some time ago the business took the decision to computerise these records for internal use. However, we soon realised that it would be possible to make the computerised records available to other interested parties over the internet – and 1837online was set up to do this.

Representatives from both 1837online.com and Title Research are members of the Family Records Centre User Group
