Ancestry.com extends free access offer to end of year: "Ancestry.com has extended its offer of free access to a 41 million-name addition made to its genealogy archives earlier this month.
On Nov. 9, the genealogy site added U.S. ship passenger lists from 1820 through 1960 covering immigrants from all over the world arriving at more than 100 American ports. The site offered free access to the lists through the end of November.
On Tuesday, the site said in a statement it will extend the offer through the end of the year. Ancestry.com has experienced its highest-ever site page views since the launch of the passenger list collection, the statement said.
'The passenger list collection has struck a chord in communities, sparking interest like we've never seen before,' said Tim Sullivan, CEO, MyFamily.com, Inc. in the statement."
